  Language and close-textual analysis 1) Camerawork, editing and sound: The camera work in this episode is very dynamic. The camera tends to focus a lot on the characters, either in a close up shot, over the shoulder or showing their full bodies. It has been done in this way to presumably give more of a focus on their dialogue and actions in a more dramatic and serious sense, as it is a TV drama. Mise-en-scene: The scenarios shown in this episode are quite gloomy, historic and lonely. The city, which is the location where the majority of the episode takes place, is quite empty, abandoned and old looking. The characters here also look quite nervous and/or always on alert, considering the setting they're in. Narrative and genre: The episode focuses on a city in the sky in which its inhabitants either fled or had their souls stolen by "Spectres", which means the city is very empty and is only really filled with children/teens. Preliminary exercise feedback and learner response

  1)  WWW: You have displayed some excellent editing and technical skills throughout this preliminary exercise. In particular, the technical editing skills you demonstrated when changing the colour grading and producing match-on-action for the chase which was a requirement for the preliminary exercise brief.  EBI: The biggest improvement needs to be ensuring you film content outside of school to establish the fantasy genre and not limit yourself to filming at school; this will improve the overall quality of your coursework project. The other thing to work on is audio levels. The dialogue was difficult to hear at the end because of the soundtrack being too loud. Most of the feedback in class was complaining about the sound at the end. 2)  WWW: - I have edited the preliminary task very well. - I demonstrated key skills that are essential for the real coursework. - I have met the brief guidelines. The knowledge and skills on how to create my own videos and/or films.   3) What grade are you realistically hoping to achieve in Media (5-9)?   Realistically, I'd say somewhere in between, so probably a 7.   4) What was the last TV programme or film you watched?   Stranger Things   5) Why do you think that TV programme or film appealed to an audience? Why would an audience like it?   It appealed to it's audience for it's story and characters. People might like the action and drama scenes within the show.   6) What technology have you used to access the media in the last 24 hours?
